The Grant County Job Development Authority (JDA) has signed a management agreement with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to develop, manage, operate & maintain the recreation areas & facilities at Heart Butte Reservoir, also known as Lake Tschida.

The management partnership between the JDA & the Bureau of Reclamation allows the JDA to locally manage nine (9) recreational areas & facilities of Lake Tschida, including the camping areas. Two groups use shelters & the public beach.

The lake is being managed without the use of JDA funds, as a self-supporting, nonprofit venture. All funds generated by the lake are being invested back into improvements & management of the lake.
